While Houghton has a rare combination of talent and athletic ability, its origin isn't just circumstantial. In his earlier years, he was very studious and hardly athletic at all. However, through his studies, he couldn't help but think of techniques to use his body more efficiently. Eventually his techniques caught the ear of famous athlete and nun Ysenia Sigafoose. Together, they developed new training methods that took her talents to new heights and he collected a lot of data about leg strength. His relationship with Ysenia gave him the motivation to try and improve his own physical prowess and he's now one of the fastest runners in all of Geodesia.

There is hardly anything that Houghton doesn't know. He is terribly fast. He has a great interest in education. He has mastered the academic fields of math and science. He has amazing physical strength. He has the skillfulness and endowment of a professional athlete. He is regularly effective in his approach to life.

Houghton likes getting other people's opinions before forming his own, checking out new sci-fi movies, and reading non-fiction books. He doesn't like watching war movies, being subjected to country music, or reading any kind of autobiographical material. Houghton is by the prospect of reading passages from Analysis: Vol I, listening to ONE OK ROCK, and incessantly watching Naked in a normal week.

If Houghton could pick a favorite episode of Color Sample Wars it would have to be the one where Hammered Silver got the Neiderer-Chichi Prosperous Boat Medal Of Accomplishment and Mango Tango watched in shame. Even I cried at the end of that one.
